I’m not pregnant, nor am I attempting to get pregnant. However, I do take prenatal vitamins every day along with my birth control pills.
I went to my doctor a few weeks ago to have my thyroid levels checked (I’ve been on medication for hypothyroidism for almost three years), and when my blood test results came back I discovered I’m at the super-low end of the range for both Vitamin D and ferritin (the amount of ferritin in the blood shows how much iron is stored in your body).
My doctor recommended that I take a prenatal vitamin because they contain more iron than a normal multivitamin (the brand I’m taking has 30mg, compared to the 18mg in Paul’s daily pill).
I do find it quite strange that I’m taking one pill to prevent pregnancy and another pill to ensure a healthy pregnancy. That’s why I fondly refer to them as my No Baby / Healthy Baby Pills.

I call the pill my no baby pill too! I was taking a multi-vitamin, but I just got diagnosed with low iron (borderline anemia), so I am just taking iron right now. Perhaps I’ll switch over to a pre-natal when I finish up my current bottle of iron pills.
It must be a girl thing. :) And yes, this iron thing is a pain!
