Monday
Sausage and Pumpkin Pasta
I’ve made this dish a few times in 2012 and it always turns out well. It’s on my list of “tried and true” recipes that I would serve to future dinner guests without hesitation.

Yum-Yum Fish and Polenta
On her blog, my sister calls this dish “Fish Stew with Polenta,” but when she sent me the recipe a few months ago, she called it “Yum-Yum Fish and Polenta” — so that’s what I’m going with.
Verdict? It’s just as delicious as she said it would be. I would definitely make this again. (And I love how colorful it is!) I had this for dinner with the recommended polenta, but after that ran out, I had the rest of the leftovers with brown rice.
Changes: 1) Used a regular onion instead of shallots; 2) Didn’t have a fennel bulb, so I substituted with fennel seeds; 3) Used cod for the fish; 4) Used regular polenta instead of instant, flavored with my homemade chicken stock.

Paul took me to Annapolis to celebrate my 32nd birthday. It was lovely. We stayed at a bed & breakfast…
…Paul found the tiniest mailbox we had ever seen…
…and I got to enjoy some wine…
…while looking at this view.
It was a lovely time. Thank you, Paul!
