Every few weeks, Paul and his friends get together to talk about the Buffalo Bills and record a podcast (their website is called Maybe Next Year). Tonight was the first time they recorded at our place so I was able to observe them in action.
Frank brought over his microphones and assorted electronics.
I prepared a double-batch of CrockPot Turkey Pumpkin Chili for dinner, which the guys devoured along with a pile of tortilla chips.
This is what the chili looks like, except I ate it plain tonight without the braised cabbage or cucumbers.
The guys watched most of the Bills’ first preseason game against the Redskins (here they are riveted to the screen; please note their team-centric shirts).
While they were watching the football game, I was in bed with a book around 830pm and my eyes kept drifting closed. I forced myself out of bed because I didn’t want to go to sleep so early. It was a good thing I did, because I later helped clean up a water spill, supplied the wireless password to one of our guests, and put the remaining chili in smaller containers for my lunch tomorrow. Must be a good hostess!
They started recording the podcast around 9pm. I realize I’m biased because I know these guys, but they really sound like they know what they’re talking about. If I knew anything about football, I’m sure I would be even more impressed!
The guys were great guests. Come back soon, podcasters!
